Getting Started

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to discuss reasons for seeking therapy, logistics, insurance, payment, and any other questions you may have.
Insurance
In-Network Provider with BCBS PPO, Blue Choice, United Health / Optum Behavioral Health, and Cigna.Self-pay and out-of-network benefits are also accepted.
It is recommended to contact your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to discuss coverage for behavioral health treatment so that you understand your benefits and financial responsibility.
Rates and fees will be discussed during our consultation call or initial session.
Out-of-Network Benefits
For all other insurances plans where Megan John is out of network, a Superbill can be provided to the Client. This is an invoice of payments the Client has made to the practice for therapy services received. This bill can then be submitted to the insurance provider. The amount goes toward the Client's out of network benefits and reimbursement may be possible. In this case Megan John does not submit claims to the insurance provider, the Client pays the practice directly, and the Client becomes responsible for submitting the Superbill to insurance. Every plan is different, so it is highly recommended to contact your insurance provider directly.
Accepted Forms of Payment
Cash, Credit Card, HSA Card, and PayPal. Payment in full is expected at the time of service.
Good Faith Estimate
Beginning January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan, federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their insurance plan, and choose to self-pay for therapy services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
A GFE means that the estimated cost of services is discussed with the Client, documented, and provided in writing to the Client. The intention of this document is to eliminate any surprises as to the cost of therapy treatment. If this applies to you, Megan John will discuss this in greater detail during our first session.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. You may have in-network and out of network benefits that would cover a portion of fees. Please check your coverage carefully by calling the customer service number. Below are a list of helpful questions to ask the insurance company when you call:
-
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to receive mental health services?
-
Is Megan John, LCPC an in-network provider?
-
Do I have an annual deductible? If so, what is my deductible? What amount, if any, has been met this year so far?
-
Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance that I pay for each visit?
-
Are there limits on the number of sessions my health insurance will cover per year?
